Iverson out with the flu
East Rutherford, NJ (Sports Network) – Philadelphia 76ers guard Allen Iverson
missed Monday’s game against New Jersey because of the flu. The Sixers lost in
overtime to the Nets, 107-97, and fell to 1-5 this season without Iverson, the
NBA’s leading scorer, in the lineup.
Iverson recently missed three games with a sprained left shoulder, but led the
Sixers in scoring in each of the four games since his return before
missing Monday’s game. He was listed on the team’s injury report as
questionable for Monday’s game because of the shoulder.
Iverson, who is averaging 28.8 points a game, is also among the league leaders
in assists and steals.
In addition to the three games he missed late last month, Iverson also
sat out a November 21 contest against Miami with an elbow contusion and
was unable to go against Minnesota on January 7 due to a right ankle injury.
