(Sports Network) – The streaking San Antonio Spurs continue their season-
long seven-game road trip on Tuesday, when they battle the expansion Charlotte
Bobcats at Charlotte Arena.
San Antonio has won four straight contests, including a 103-91 victory over
the Los Angeles Lakers at the Staples Center last Thursday. The Spurs’ road
trip is quite spread out, as it will take place over 17 days. San Antonio’s
road swing will finish up on February 16 in New Orleans.
Tony Parker scored 22 points and Tim Duncan shook off an early knee injury to
finish with 17 points in the win over the Lakers. Duncan was injured in the
second quarter when his knee became tangled under the basket, but he came back
to start the second half. Officially, Duncan hyperextended the left knee.
Duncan is questionable for tonight’s game.
Malik Rose contributed 19 points and 11 rebounds while Manu Ginobili posted 17
points and nine assists for the Spurs. The Spurs shot 48.8 percent from the
field, including 3-of-18 (.167) from three-point range. San Antonio drained
18-of-20 shots (.900) from the free throw line.
Center Rasho Nesterovic, who has missed six games due to a sprained left
ankle, is listed as questionable for tonight’s contest. Nesterovic has posted
6.7 rebounds and 5.4 points per game this season.
San Antonio, which is 4-0 on Tuesdays this season, owns a 15-9 road record.
The Spurs have won four of five and six of their last 10 road contests.
The Spurs are scheduled to visit the Washington Wizards on Wednesday, New
Jersey Nets on Friday and the Miami Heat on Sunday. San Antonio is 1-0 against
Washington and Miami this season and will be playing the Nets for the first
time in the 2004-05 campaign.
Parker has scored in double-digits and has played 30 or more minutes in six
straight games. He is averaging 17.8 points and 7.8 assists in that span. The
6-2 point guard has posted 15.8 points and a team-high 6.2 assists per game
