Nets’ Scalabrine undergoes surgery
East Rutherford, NJ (Sports Network) – New Jersey Nets forward Brian
Scalabrine underwent successful knee surgery Thursday.
The surgery, which involved the removal of a loose body from Scalabrine’s left
knee, was performed by Dr. David Altchek at the Hospital for Special Surgery
in Manhattan. There is no immediate timetable for his return.
For the season, Scalabrine has appeared in 30 games and is averaging 5.8
points and 4.5 rebounds.
In other team news, guard Billy Thomas was signed for the remainder of the
season. Thomas has played in 11 games for New Jersey, posting 6.9 points and
2.4 boards per outing.
