Szczerbiak and Cassell sidelined

Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) – Minnesota Timberwolves forward Wally
Szczerbiak and guard Sam Cassell did not play in Sunday’s game against the
Chicago Bulls.

Szczerbiak sat out with the flu, while Cassell was sidelined with a strained
right hamstring.

The 27-year-old Szczerbiak was replaced in the starting lineup by Trenton
Hassell and Troy Hudson started at point guard instead of Cassell.

It was the first game for Minnesota with Kevin McHale as head coach. The
Timberwolves fired longtime head coach Flip Saunders on Saturday.

In 51 games, including 37 starts, Szczerbiak has averaged 16 points per game.

As for Cassell, he has averaged 14.3 points and 5.8 assists per game in 39
games, including 36 starts.
