(Sports Network) – The Bulls registered an 87-83 victory over the Minnesota
Timberwolves at the Target Center on Sunday. Chicago had lost six straight
trips to the Target Center
Ben Gordon scored a team-high 21 points off the bench as the Bulls picked up
the victory. Gordon went 7-of-18 from the floor and snatched eight rebounds
for Chicago, which ended a five-game road trip with a 2-3 record.
Eddy Curry added 17 points on 7-of-9 shooting and Kirk Hinrich had 15 points,
five boards and five assists for Chicago. Also scoring double digits for the
Bulls were Othella Harrington with 12 points and Chris Duhon with 10.
Hinrich is the team leader in points (15.7) and assists (6.9), while Curry is
a close second with 15.5 points per contest. Tyson Chandler is the Bulls’ best
rebounder with 9.3 boards per game.
The Bulls have won two consecutive meetings with the Timberwolves. Chicago
defeated Minnesota, 99-88, on December 11 to snap a 10-game series losing
Chicago sits in the middle of the Central Division standings, five games back
of first place Detroit. The Bulls are currently seventh in the Eastern
Conference playoff race.
The Bulls have just two games this week, as they host Sacramento on Tuesday
before traveling to Toronto for a contest on Wednesday. Chicago will then have
five days off for the All-Star break.
