(Sports Network) – Miami proved up to the task against Western Conference
leader San Antonio on Sunday, posting a 96-92 victory at American Airlines
Arena.

Dwyane Wade scored a game-high 28 points and Shaquille O’Neal added 27 in the
possible NBA Finals preview. Eddie Jones, who suffered a fractured left index
finger in the first quarter, ended with 12 points in 33 minutes.

Wade now leads the Heat in scoring (23.4) and assists (7.2), while O’Neal is
second in scoring (23.3) and tops in rebounding (10.7) and blocks (2.54).
Udonis Haslem is quietly averaging 9.1 rebounds per contest.

Damon Jones provided a spark with 11 points, including 3-of-4 from beyond the
arc, for the Heat, who have won six in a row and nine of their last 10
contests.

Miami shot a scorching 52 percent from the floor in the win, while also
winning the battle of the glass, 41-38.

Alonzo Mourning, who was recently released by the Toronto Raptors on Friday,
was in attendance during the game. Mourning played for the Heat from 1995-2002
and there has been recent speculation that the veteran center would like to
sign with Miami.

Miami improved to 32-1 when leading after three quarters of play, including
19-0 at home. The lone loss came against the LA Clippers, who play the Heat on
Wednesday. The win was the first for Miami over the Spurs since February 1,
2002.

The Heat reside atop the Eastern Conference, seven games ahead of second place
Detroit. Miami is also 7 1/2 contests in front of Washington in the Southeast
Division.
