=== Boston Celtics Team Report – February 14 ===

(Sports Network) – The Celtics faded late in a 104-100 loss to the Sacramento
Kings at the FleetCenter on Sunday.

Raef LaFrentz had 25 points and Paul Pierce 22 for Boston, which halted a two-
game winning streak and lost for just the second time in its last seven games.
Mark Blount added 16 points and eight rebounds in the defeat.

LaFrentz has been on a relative scoring binge over the last four games,
averaging 17.3 points per contest. The veteran has also averaged 11.5 rebounds
over the last two games.

Meanwhile, Pierce leads the Celtics in scoring (22 ppg), rebounding (6.9 rpg)
and steals (1.73). The Kansas University product is second on the squad in
assists (4.3 apg) as well.

Ricky Davis chipped in 14 points off the bench and Gary Payton tacked on 12
points, nine assists, six rebounds and five steals in the contest. After
leading by four heading into the fourth quarter, the Celtics were outscored
27-19 en route to defeat.

The Celtics fell to 15-5 in their last 20 home games. For the year, Boston is
18-9 at the FleetCenter. Boston also has topped 100 points 27 times this
season.

In the contest, Boston shot an impressive 48 percent, including 5-of-14 (.357)
from three-point range. The Celtics hit 19-of-25 (.760) from the charity
stripe.

The Kings outrebounded the Celtics, 41-40, in the game. Boston committed 16
turnovers which led to 16 Sacramento points, while the Kings’ 15 miscues led
to 16 Boston points. Boston has lost three straight and nine of the last 10
meetings with Sacramento.

Boston remains atop the Atlantic Division, a tenuous half-game ahead of
Philadelphia. The Celtics have just one contest this week, as they host
Memphis on Wednesday night.
