Celtics activate Jefferson from IL
Boston, MA (Sports Network) – The Boston Celtics activated forward
Al Jefferson from the injured list on Wednesday.
Jefferson, selected by Boston with the 15th overall pick in the 2004 draft,
had been on the IL since January 28 with a sprained right ankle.
He is averaging 7.0 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game, while
ranking third among rookies in field goal percentage, fifth in blocks and
seventh in boards per game.
In a related move, forward Justin Reed was placed on the injured list with
infrapatella tendinitis. Redd is averaging 1.9 points per outing.
