Houston Rockets Team Report – February 22

=== Houston Rockets Team Report – February 22 ===

(Sports Network) – The streaking Houston Rockets attempt to extend their
season-high winning streak to nine games, as they host the Seattle Supersonics
on Tuesday at the Toyota Center.

It will be the first meeting of the season between the clubs. The teams will
meet three more times as Seattle will host the Rockets on March 8th and April
11th, while Houston will host the Sonics on April 20th.

The road team has won three straight meetings in this series, while the home
team has won nine of the last 14 contests. Seattle has won two straight and
three of its last four at Houston.

The Rockets last won nine straight games in the 1998-99 season. Houston won 15
in a row in the 1992-93 and 1993-94 campaigns, which are franchise-highs.

Houston plays the finale of a three-game homestand. In their last game before
the All-Star break, the Rockets crushed the Washington Wizards, 123-93, on
February 15th. All-Star Tracy McGrady scored 34 points, dished out nine
assists and grabbed six rebounds to lead Houston to the victory.

Yao Ming finished with 23 points, nine rebounds and four blocks for the
Rockets in the win over Washington, while Juwan Howard and David Wesley had 18
points apiece for Houston, which used a huge fourth-quarter run to put the
game well out of reach.

McGrady has scored in double-digits in all 50 games he has played in this
season. He has logged 40 or more minutes in 20 of his last 21 contests.

The Rockets are in third place in the Southwest Division, nine games behind
first-place San Antonio and four games in back of second-place Dallas. Houston
is a solid 18-10 as the host as it has won four in a row at the Toyota Center.

Houston is scheduled to visit the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday at the SBC
Center and will then host the Utah Jazz on Sunday at the Toyota Center. The
Rockets are 2-0 against the Spurs this season and 1-1 versus the Jazz.
