(Sports Network) – Chicago got its stretch run off to a positive start on
Tuesday night, as it tallied a 105-101 overtime victory over the Miami Heat at
the United Center.

Ben Gordon scored nine of his 29 points in overtime and collected 20 of
Chicago’s final 28 points overall in the win. Included in Gordon’s spectacular
play down the stretch was a trio of three- pointers late in the fourth quarter
that helped the Bulls overcome a seven- point deficit.

Chicago took advantage of Miami, which was playing without Shaquille O’Neal
for most of the game. O’Neal left with a strained left knee.

Eddy Curry chipped in 16 points for the Bulls, Luol Deng scored 14 and Tyson
Chandler had a game-high 12 rebounds. Tyson Chandler registered 12 rebounds in
the contest.

Chicago hit 39.6 percent from the field, including 10-of-23 (.435) from three-
point range. The Bulls hit just 19-of-30 (.633) from the free throw line.
Chicago dominated the Heat, 54-48, on the glass in the winning effort. Chicago
improved to 13-2 this season when scoring at least 100 points.

Chicago, which has won three of four and five of its last eight road tilts, is
10-13 in foreign buildings. The Bulls have seven of their next 10 games on the
road.

The Bulls will return to the hardwood tonight against the Cleveland Cavaliers
at Gund Arena. The teams have split a pair of meetings this season with the
home team winning both games. Chicago has won three of five and six of the
last nine meetings in the series. The Bulls have dropped their last two trips
to Cleveland.

After battling Cleveland tonight, the Bulls have a day off before hosting
Washington on Friday. Chicago will then close up its week against Charlotte on
the road.
