New York, NY (Sports Network) – Tim Thomas scored a season-high 27 points,
Kurt Thomas added 21 with 12 rebounds and New York defeated Philadelphia,
113-101, at historic Madison Square Garden. Stephon Marbury collected 17
points with 12 assists for the Knicks, who made several moves before the
trading deadline. New York, which won for just the sixth time in its last
26 games, acquired forward Maurice Taylor from the Houston Rockets in
exchange for forward Vin Baker, guard Moochie Norris and a 2006 second-round
pick. The Knicks also sent center Nazr Mohammed and reserve guard Jamison
Brewer to the San Antonio Spurs in exchange for a first-round pick and
forward Malik Rose. Marc Jackson scored 18 points while Samuel Dalembert
collected 14 points with 15 rebounds for Philadelphia, which pulled off a
blockbuster deal late Wednesday and made another trade on Thursday at the
deadline. After acquiring perennial All-Star forward Chris Webber from
Sacramento, Philly also acquired forwards Rodney Rogers and Jamal Mashburn
from the New Orleans Hornets in exchange for forward Glenn Robinson.

Dallas, TX (Sports Network) – Dirk Nowitzki posted 34 points and 11 rebounds
and Marquis Daniels collected 29 points, nine boards and eight assists, as
Dallas used a big fourth quarter to rally for a 122-113 win over the
Sacramento Kings. Michael Finley netted 22 points and Josh Howard recorded
16 points and nine rebounds for the Mavericks, who have won six straight and
seven of their last eight contests. Cuttino Mobley and Mike Bibby scored 26
points apiece for the Kings, who have dropped seven of their last nine
contests. Darius Songaila registered 23 points and 12 boards in the loss
and Brad Miller chipped in 16 points and 15 rebounds. Both of these teams
played with just eight available players after making deals before
Thursday’s trade deadline. The Kings shocked the league late Wednesday
night when they dealt perennial All-Star forward Chris Webber along
with reserve forwards Matt Barnes and Michael Bradley to Philadelphia for
forwards Kenny Thomas, Corliss Williamson and Brian Skinner. Meanwhile, the
Mavericks acquired forward Keith Van Horn from the Milwaukee Bucks in
exchange for center Calvin Booth, forward Alan Henderson and cash
considerations.

Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) – Elton Brand led the way with 24 points, as
the Los Angeles Clippers halted a pair of losing streaks with a 92-86 victory
over the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Staples Center. Corey Maggette scored
23 points for the Clippers, who put the brakes on an eight-game slide and
halted their nine-game skid versus Minnesota. Bobby Simmons netted 15
points while Chris Kaman chipped in 13 points and 10 rebounds in the
victory. Latrell Sprewell posted 17 points for the Timberwolves, who returned
from the All-Star break and opened a three-game road swing but did not
find much success in southern California. Wally Szczerbiak added 15 points in
the losing effort and Kevin Garnett finished with 14 points and eight boards.
The Timberwolves also suffered a pair of injuries in the contest. Forward
Eddie Griffin left with a fractured index finger and center Michael Olowokandi
suffered a hyperextended right knee.
