(Sports Network) – The re-tooled Boston Celtics try to snap a two-game losing
skid tonight when they visit the Utah Jazz at the Delta Center.

After seeing their competition in the Atlantic Division, Philadelphia, acquire
forward Chris Webber from Sacramento, the Celtics acquired forward Antoine
Walker and cash considerations from Atlanta in exchange for disgruntled guard
Gary Payton, forward Tom Gugliotta, center Michael Stewart and a first-round
pick.

Walker, who spent the first seven years of his career with Boston, is
averaging 20.4 points and 9.4 rebounds per-game this season. Walker helped key
the Celtics’ run to the Eastern Conference finals during the 2001-02 season.

The Celtics also traded Jiri Welsch to Cleveland for a protected 2007 first-
round pick.

Boston is currently leading the Atlantic, but by only a half-game over the
76ers. Only five games separate the Celtics from last place New York in the
Atlantic.

On Wednesday the Celtics dropped a 107-86 contest in Denver. Delonte West led
the Celtics with a career-high 17 points, while Paul Pierce added 16. Ricky
Davis and Tony Allen each added 12 points for the Celtics, who have dropped
three of their last four games overall.

Pierce, who is tallying 21.9 points, 6.8 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game,
should be much better with a scorer like Walker back on the roster.

Boston will close out a four-game road trip Sunday at Phoenix. The Celtics
will then begin the month of March with a six-game homestand. The Los Angeles
Lakers will be their first opponent during their home slate.
