(Sports Network) – The Minnesota Timberwolves visit the surprising Seattle
SuperSonics on Friday at KeyArena.

It will be the third meeting of the season between the clubs. In the two
previous contests, the teams split a pair of games as each club picked up a
win on the road. The Timberwolves will host the Sonics on April 17th in the
final meeting between the squads in the 2004-05 campaign.

The road team has won five of the last six meetings in this series, while the
home team has won 11 of the last 16 contests.

The Timberwolves play the middle contest of a three-game road trip Friday. On
Thursday, Elton Brand led the way with 24 points, as the Los Angeles Clippers
halted a pair of losing streaks with a 92-86 victory over Minnesota at the
Staples Center.

Latrell Sprewell posted 17 points for the Timberwolves, who returned from the
All-Star break to opened the three-game road swing but did not find much
success in southern California. Wally Szczerbiak added 15 points in the losing
effort and Kevin Garnett finished with 14 points and eight boards.

Minnesota is 8-2 in Friday games this season.

The Timberwolves are 11-15 on the road this season.

Sprewell is averaging 12.5 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.4 assists in his last 10
games. He has scored in double-digits in six of those contests and has played
30 or minutes in all 10 of the games.

Garnett has scored in double-digits in all 55 of Minnesota’s games this
season. He has recorded 46 double-doubles and leads the Timberwolves in
scoring (22.0 ppg) and rebounding (13.8 rpg) and is tied with Sam Cassell for
the team lead in assists (5.7 apg).

Minnesota is scheduled to visit the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday at the
Rose Garden. It will be the fourth and final meeting of the season between the
