(Sports Network) – The Utah Jazz host the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday at
the Delta Center. This is the third meeting of the season between the clubs.
In the two previous contests, the teams split a pair of games as each club
picked up a win on its homecourt. The Clippers will host the Jazz on April
12th in the final meeting of the 2004-05 campaign between the squads.
The Jazz have won six of the last eight meetings in the series. The Clippers
have lost four straight and an unbelievable 30 of their last 31 at Utah.
Utah comes into Monday’s game off a solid win. Matt Harpring scored a season-
high 28 points on 12-of-17 shooting to lead the Jazz to a 99-92 win over the
Houston Rockets on Sunday at the Toyota Center.
Raja Bell, who went 3-for-3 from three-point range, netted 21 points for the
Jazz, who snapped a five-game road losing streak and won for just the second
time in their last eight contests overall. Utah was without Carlos Boozer, who
missed his fourth straight game with a sprained right foot.
Boozer is doubtful for Monday’s game. The Duke product leads the team in
scoring (17.8 ppg) and rebounding (9.0 rpg).
Bell is averaging 14.9 points and 2.6 rebounds in his last 10 games. He has
scored in double-digits in eight of 10 and 15 of his last 19 contests. Bell is
averaging 12.4 points per game this season for Utah, which is fourth on the
The Jazz, who host the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday, are just 11-16 at the Delta
Center this season. Utah has lost two straight and seven of its last 10
contests as the host.
After Tuesday’ game against the Hawks, the Jazz go on the road for a pair of
contests. Utah will visit the New Orleans Hornets on Friday and the San
Antonio Spurs on Sunday.
