=== Detroit Pistons Team Report – March 2 ===

(Sports Network) – The Pistons continued their red hot play on Tuesday night,
as they recorded a 103-93 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers at the Rose
Garden.

Richard Hamilton led six Detroit players in double figures with 20 points in
the victory. Antonio McDyess posted 18 points while Tayshaun Prince added 17
for the Pistons, who won their eighth straight game overall.

Chauncey Billups contributed 16 points and Ben Wallace netted 13 in the win.
Former Blazer Rasheed Wallace registered 12 points and 10 rebounds in the
contest. Wallace answered questions from Detroit members of the press after
the game, but refused to respond to the Portland media.

Detroit, which improved to 36-19, shot 55.4 percent from the field in the
contest. The Pistons hit 4-of-10 three-pointers and 17-of-21 (.810) from the
free throw line.

Detroit was outrebounded, 39-32, but committed only eight turnovers in the
victory.

The Pistons are expected to re-sign veteran center Elden Campbell, who is
expected to be waived by the New Jersey Nets. Campbell spent the early portion
of this season with Detroit before being dealt to Utah in the Carlos Arroyo
deal. The 36-year-old was then waived by Utah only to be claimed off waivers
by New Jersey.

Detroit is in control of the Central Division, leading the Cleveland Cavaliers
by five games. The Pistons are 4 1/2 contests back of the Miami Heat for the
Eastern Conference lead.

Detroit has a day off before continuing its six-game road trip in Phoenix on
Thursday night. The Pistons take on Seattle at KeyArena on Friday night before
finishing up their road swing in Sacramento on Sunday.
