Bulls place Deng on injured list
San Antonio, TX (Sports Network) – The Chicago Bulls placed forward Luol Deng
on the injured list Friday with a sprained right ankle.
The rookie suffered the injury early in the first quarter of Tuesday’s home
game against Houston when he stepped on the foot of Rockets center Yao Ming.
He underwent an MRI, which revealed the severity of the problem.
Deng will likely be sidelined two-to-four weeks. In 54 games this season,
including 45 starts, he is averaging 12.2 points and 5.4 rebounds per contest.
Meanwhile, the club activated guard Frank Williams from the injured list. He
had been sidelined with a strained left hamstring. Williams has appeared in
only eight games this season and is averaging 0.8 points per outing.
