Mavs coach Nelson to miss some time

Dallas, TX (Sports Network) – Dallas Mavericks head coach Don Nelson will miss
the next three games to be with his wife, the team announced Wednesday.

Nelson’s wife, Joy, is recovering from non-cancer related surgery. The team
will be in the hands of assistant coach Avery Johnson, who totes a 7-3 record
in Nelson’s absence. Johnson guided the Mavs when Nelson had shoulder surgery.

Johnson will assume head coaching duties for Thursday’s game against the
Lakers, Friday’s contest at Milwaukee and Sunday’s game versus Minnesota.
