El Segundo, CA (Sports Network) – Los Angeles Lakers forward Lamar Odom did
not travel with the team for Tuesday’s game at Utah.
Odom’s left shoulder was examined Monday by team doctor Steve Lombardo and
shoulder specialist Dr. James Tibone and was diagnosed with a small labrum
tear and a rotator cuff contusion. He is slated to be re-evaluated on
Wednesday and his status is considered day-to-day.
Odom, who was injured during Friday’s game against Indiana, leads the team in
rebounds (10.2) and is averaging 15.2 points, 3.7 assists and 1.02 blocks
in 64 games this season. He did not play in Sunday’s loss to Seattle.
The 6’2-225 pounder was selected by the Clippers in the first round (fourth
overall) of the 1999 NBA Draft out of Rhode Island. He played four seasons
with the Clippers before spending last year with Miami.
Odom joined the Lakers as part of the deal that sent Shaquille O’Neal to the
Heat in July.
