(Sports Network) – The Celtics came back to Earth on Wednesday evening, when
they fell 107-82 to the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

Antoine Walker was the only Celtic to score in double-digits, finishing with
13 points and 10 rebounds. Boston fell to 11-2 since the trade that brought
Walker back to Beantown.

Paul Pierce tallied just five points and Gary Payton posted only four points
and six assists.

Tony Allen and Mark Blount each netted nine points for Boston, which was
looking for its first eight-game winning streak in 12 years. The last time the
Celtics won eight consecutive games was during a nine-game tear that spanned
from March 16-31, 1993.

Boston shot just 38.3 percent from the field, including 4-of-17 (.235) from
three-point range. The Celtics drained 16-of-25 (.540) from the free throw
line in the defeat. Boston was outrebounded, 46-36, and committed 18 turnovers
in the defeat.

Boston’s five-game road winning streak came to an end. For the year, the
Celtics are 13-20 in foreign buildings.

The Celtics remain a comfortable 4 1/2 games ahead of Philadelphia for the
third seed and the Atlantic Division lead. New Jersey lurks six games back of

Boston has a day off before hosting the red hot Chicago Bulls on Friday night.
The Celtics will finish up their three-game week against Detroit at the Palace
of Auburn Hills on Saturday.
