McGrady leaves game against Hornets

New Orleans, LA (Sports Network) – Houston Rockets All-Star Tracy McGrady
was removed from Friday’s 81-68 victory against the New Orleans Hornets after
straining his right hip in the first quarter.

McGrady, who ranks sixth in the league with a 25.5 points per game scoring
average coming in, suffered the injury while guarding the Hornets’ Lee
Nailon at the 8:41 mark of the opening period. He had to be assisted into
the locker room and did not return.

The 25-year-old superstar was 0-for-1 from the field and had one assist before
leaving. It is not yet known if McGrady will miss any further time.

McGrady is also averaging 6.2 rebounds, 5.9 assists, 1.8 steals and a league-
best 41.6 minutes per contest.
