Magic guard Nelson out at least a week

Orlando, FL (Sports Network) – Orlando Magic rookie guard Jameer Nelson will
miss at least a week of action after he suffered a slight tear in his rib cage
during Monday night’s win over Atlanta.

Nelson, who played just three minutes of the contest before leaving, underwent
an MRI on Tuesday that revealed a small tear of the intercostal muscle (rib
cage muscle).

The St. Joseph’s product has been a pleasant surprise for the Magic, averaging
8.0 points per game to go along with 2.9 assists. Nelson has seen action in 70
games this season, starting 14 of them.

Orlando, which currently sports a 33-37 mark, returns to the hardwood on
Wednesday night against Toronto, before hosting Washington Friday night.
