(Sports Network) – The Los Angeles Clippers play the sixth contest of a
seven-game road trip on Tuesday as they visit the expansion Bobcats at
Charlotte Coliseum. Los Angeles registered a 99-93 double-overtime victory
over the Bobcats in their first-ever meeting on December 6th, as Corey
Maggette tallied 33 points in the winning effort for the Clippers.
Los Angeles snapped a six-game road losing streak and a four-contest skid with
a 111-91 victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday at Philips Arena. The
Clippers won on the road for only the second time since winning at Memphis on
Elton Brand poured in a game-high 33 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to pace
the Clippers to the victory over Atlanta. Maggette scored 25 and Chris Wilcox
added 22 for LA. Marko Jaric ended with 14 points, while rookie Shaun
Livingston dished out 10 assists in the win.
The Clippers played with only nine players on Sunday, as Bobby Simmons (left
leg contusion) and center Chris Kaman (back) sat out. Simmons and Kaman are
listed as questionable for Tuesday’s contest.
Los Angeles shot an impressive 57.3 percent from the field, including 3-of-5
(.600) from three-point range. The Clippers hit 22-of-27 (.815) from the free
throw line, while turning the ball over 19 times.
The Clippers are just 8-28 in foreign buildings this season. Los Angeles has
lost 15 of its last 17 road games.
Brand has scored in double-digits in eight of his last 10 games and has
recorded five double-doubles in that span. He is averaging 20.1 points and 9.1
rebounds in his last 10 contests.
The Clippers will visit San Antonio on Wednesday and will then return home on
Friday to host the Spurs. LA is 0-2 against San Antonio this season.
LA will play five of its final eight games on the road. The Clippers last
three home games are against the San Antonio Spurs, Utah Jazz and New Orleans
