New Jersey’s Vaughn undergoes surgery
East Rutherford, NJ (Sports Network) – New Jersey Nets guard Jacque Vaughn had
surgery performed on his right foot on Tuesday and will miss the remainder of
The 30-year-old Vaughn averaged 5.3 points per game in 2004-05, his first
season with the Nets. He was injured during the first half of Saturday’s
home loss to Orlando.
Performed at Hackensack University Medical Center, the operation included a
screw being inserted to repair the fractured fifth metatarsal in the foot.
Vaughn is expected to make a full recovery for next season.
In eight seasons, Vaughn, who was drafted 27th overall by Utah in 1997, has
career averages of 5.0 points and 2.7 assists per contest.
