New Orleans buzzing with roster moves
New Orleans, LA (Sports Network) – The New Orleans Hornets will be without
Jamaal Magloire (back spasms) and Chris Andersen (sprained right ankle) for
Friday’s game against Utah.
Andersen is averaging 7.7 points and 6.1 rebounds in 67 games this season,
while Magloire has been limited to 23 games due to injury.
Magloire missed 51 games earlier this season with a broken right ring finger,
which he suffered in a loss to the Phoenix Suns on November 26. He returned
in mid-March. A 2004 All-Star, Magloire is averaging 11.7 points and 8.9
boards this season. He was selected by the Hornets with the 19th overall pick
in the 2000 NBA Draft.
Meanwhile, the Hornets placed guard Speedy Claxton on the injured list and
activated Marciej Lampe. Claxton (groin) is averaging 6.8 points and 5.5
assists since coming over from the Warriors in the February trade that sent
Baron Davis to Golden State.
