NBA issues fines to Mobley and Johnson
New York, NY (Sports Network) – The National Basketball Association handed
out separate fines Monday to Sacramento Kings guard Cuttino Mobley and Dallas
Mavericks head coach Avery Johnson.
Mobley was slapped with a $15,000 fine for making an obscene gesture toward
fans with 42.4 seconds left in Saturday’s playoff game at Seattle. The
SuperSonics won the contest 87-82 to take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven
Western Conference quarterfinal series.
Meanwhile, Johnson was handed a $10,000 fine for failing to leave the court in
a timely manner following the conclusion of Saturday’s postseason contest
versus Houston. The Rockets posted a 98-86 victory in Game 1 of the Western
Conference quarterfinal series.
