National Basketball Association Playoff Game Capsules

Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) – Rasheed Wallace was a thorn in
Philadelphia’s side, scoring eight of his 17 points in overtime to lead the
Detroit Pistons past the 76ers, 97-92, in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference
quarterfinals at the Wachovia Center. Chauncey Billups recorded 25 points,
seven assists and six rebounds for the Pistons, who have a 3-1 lead in the
best-of-seven series with Game 5 slated for Tuesday night at The Palace.
Richard Hamilton netted 20 points and Tayshaun Prince added 17, as the
Pistons overcame a nine-point deficit in the fourth quarter. Philadelphia was
led by Allen Iverson’s game-high 36 points and eight assists. Chris Webber
scored 23 points for the 76ers, who have never come back to win a playoff
series after losing the first two games of the set.

East Rutherford, NJ (Sports Network) – Dwyane Wade poured in 34 points and
handed out nine assists, as the Miami Heat completed a sweep of their Eastern
Conference quarterfinal series against New Jersey with a 110-97 victory over
the Nets in Game 4 at Continental Airlines Arena. Eddie Jones added 21 points
for Miami, which swept a best-of-seven series for the first time in franchise
history. Shaquille O’Neal scored all 17 of his points in the second half
and also pulled down eight rebounds for the Heat, who will meet the
winner of the Chicago/Washington series in the conference semifinals. Jason
Kidd paced New Jersey with 25 points and seven assists. Vince Carter
chipped in 23 points and 10 boards for the Nets, who have lost nine straight
games against Miami, dating back to the 2003-04 regular season.

Final Score: Phoenix 123, Memphis 115

Memphis, TN (Sports Network) – Joe Johnson poured in 25 points and Shawn
Marion finished with 23 points and 11 rebounds, as the Phoenix Suns completed
a sweep of the Memphis Grizzlies with a 123-115 victory in Game 4 of the
Western Conference quarterfinals at the FedEx Forum. Steve Nash added 24
points and nine assists for the Suns, who swept a best-of-seven series for
the first time in franchise history. Phoenix’s last sweep came against
Portland in a best-of-five set during the 1995 postseason. The Grizzlies were
swept out of the playoffs for the second straight year and dropped to 0-8
all-time in the postseason. They lost in four games to San Antonio in last
year’s opening round. Pau Gasol recorded a game-high 28 points for
Memphis and Jason Williams collected 20 points and eight assists.

Sacramento, CA (Sports Network) – Ray Allen scored a playoff career high 45
points to lead the Seattle SuperSonics to a 115-102 victory over the
Sacramento Kings in Game 4 of the Western Conference quarterfinals at ARCO
Arena. The Sonics grabbed a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven set and can close
it out when the series heads back to Seattle for Game 5 on Tuesday. Allen
added six assists and four steals and was 17-of-28 from the field. His
point total is the highest by a player in this year’s postseason. Rashard
Lewis posted 19 points and eight rebounds and Jerome James added 17 points
and eight boards for the Sonics, who became the first team in this series
to win on the road. Peja Stojakovic had 27 points for the Kings, who led by
as many as 19 points in the second quarter before succumbing to Allen and the
Sonics in the fourth quarter.
