National Basketball Association Playoff Game Capsules

Auburn Hills, MI (Sports Network) – Jermaine O’Neal finished with 22 points,
10 rebounds and five blocks and Reggie Miller scored 15 of his 19 points in
the second half, as the Indiana Pacers downed the Detroit Pistons, 92-83, to
even their Eastern Conference semifinal series at one game apiece. The Pacers
earned a split in the games at The Palace and will now head home for Game 3
on Friday night at Conseco Fieldhouse. Jeff Foster posted 14 points and a
career-high 20 rebounds for the Pacers, who are making their seventh
appearance in the conference semifinals. Jamaal Tinsley added 12 points and
12 assists in the victory. Tayshaun Prince had 24 points, nine rebounds
and seven assists for the defending NBA champion Pistons, who had led by
as many as 15 points in the first half. Detroit lost for just the third
time in its last 19 games dating back to the regular season.

Phoenix, AZ (Sports Network) – Dirk Nowitzki’s basket with 6.8 seconds
remaining lifted the Dallas Mavericks to a 108-106 victory over Phoenix in
Game 2 of their Western Conference semifinal series at America West Arena.
Michael Finley finished with a game-high 31 points, hitting 5-of-6 from three-
point range, as the Mavericks knotted the best-of-seven series at a game
apiece with Game 3 slated for Friday in Texas. The Suns had one final chance
after a timeout, but Quentin Richardson missed from three-point range at the
buzzer and the Mavericks escaped with the win.
