Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) – Reggie Miller scored 17 points and hit a
number of clutch shots down the stretch, as the Indiana Pacers held off the
Detroit Pistons, 79-74, at Conseco Fieldhouse in Game 3 of their Eastern
Conference semifinal series. Miller scored eight of his points in the fourth
quarter, hitting four straight free throws and then a clinching jumper
with 10.7 seconds left. Indiana, which relinquished a 14-point fourth-
quarter lead, responded to take a 2-1 lead in this best-of-seven series.
Chauncey Billups had a game-high 23 points for Detroit, which has dropped two
in a row in this series after taking the opener. Game 4 is scheduled for
Sunday in Indiana.

Dallas, TX (Sports Network) – Amare Stoudemire racked up 37 points and 14
rebounds while Steve Nash compiled 27 points and 17 assists to propel Phoenix
to a 119-102 victory over Dallas in Game 3 of their Western Conference
semifinal at AmericanAirlines Center. Jim Jackson, who replaced the injured
Joe Johnson in the starting lineup, had 17 points and eight rebounds to
help the Suns take a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-seven series, which
resumes Sunday in Dallas. Dirk Nowitzki amassed 21 points and 13 rebounds
but was just 8-of-24 from the field for the Mavericks, who shot just 39
percent and were a woeful 1-of-18 from three-point range. Jerry Stackhouse
netted 20 points off the bench.
