Raptors extend qualifying offers to Bonner and Sow
Toronto, ON (Sports Network) – The Toronto Raptors have extended qualifying
offers to forwards Matt Bonner and Pape Sow.
Bonner, 6’10”, averaged 7.2 points and 3.5 rebounds while playing in all 82
games for Toronto this past season. He was acquired by the Raptors during the
2003 draft in exchange for a second-round pick.
He joined the team after spending the 2003-04 season playing for Sicilia in
the Italian A1 League. Bonner, out of the University of Florida, is the only
player in school history to record 1,500 points, 750 rebounds and 150 three-
Sow also just completed his first NBA season after being selected out of Cal
State-Fullerton by Miami with the 47th overall pick in the 2004 draft. He was
traded on draft day to Toronto and played in just 27 games in 2004-05 with a
2.3 points per game average.
The moves provide Toronto with the right to match any offer by another club
for Bonner or Sow.
