Portland, OR (Sports Network) – The Portland Trail Blazers announced Saturday
that the team has signed rookie swingman Martell Webster to a multi-year

Webster, who was chosen with the sixth overall pick in the 2005 NBA Draft, was
the first high school player selected after he helped lead Seattle (WA) Prep
to a 19-5 record this past season.

The 6-7 Webster poured in 27.7 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and added two
assists per game during his senior year, while being named as a finalist for
the Naismith Award, which is given to the top high schooler in the country.

Webster, 18, who was selected as to the All-America First Team, will
participate in Portland’s Summer League, which begins on July 6.
