Pacers ink top pick Granger
Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) – The Indiana Pacers announced Thursday that
the club has signed rookie forward Danny Granger to a multi-year contract. As
per team policy, financial terms of the deal were not released.
Granger, who was selected with the 17th overall pick in the 2005 NBA Draft,
spent two seasons at the University of New Mexico.
Last year, the 6-8, 225-pounder averaged 19.1 points, 8.9 rebounds and 2.3
assists per game and led the Lobos to the NCAA Tournament where they lost in
the first round to New Mexico.
Granger, who was named as a member of the 2004-05 All-Mountain West Conference
First Team, is expected to take part in Indiana’s Rookie/Free Agent Camp,
which starts Sunday, July 10.
