Sixers’ Green undergoes knee surgery

Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) – Philadelphia 76ers guard Willie Green
underwent successful arthroscopic left knee surgery Tuesday.

The 75-minute procedure was performed by noted sports surgeon Dr. James
Andrews in Birmingham, Alabama.

“Willie had a left knee ACL reconstruction and repair of a lateral meniscus
tear,” 76ers team physician Dr. Jack McPhilemy said in a release by the club.

Green, a restricted free agent who injured his knee during a summer pickup
game, will be sidelined for six to nine months and could miss the entire
2005-06 season.

In 2004-05, Green played in 57 games, averaging 7.7 points and 2.3 rebounds
per contest. In his two seasons with the Sixers, Green has netted 7.3 points
and handed out 1.4 assists in 110 games, including 21 starts.
