Evans accepts qualifying offer from Sonics
Seattle, WA (Sports Network) – Forward Reggie Evans has signed the Seattle
SuperSonics’ one-year qualifying offer, the club announced Tuesday.
“We’re thrilled to have one of the top rebounders in the NBA back in a Sonics
uniform this season,” said Seattle general manager Rick Sund. “Reggie is a
tenacious rebounder and he has always found a way to have an impact on the
court. He’s like a bulldog around the boards.”
Evans averaged a career-high 9.3 rebounds and 4.9 points per game in 79
contests, all starts, with Seattle last season.
In his three-year career, the 6-foot-8, 245-pound Iowa product has averaged
3.7 points and 7.2 rebounds per game in 221 games. The undrafted forward
signed with the SuperSonics as a free agent in 2002.
