Gerald Wallace and Nash capture NBA weekly honors
New York, NY (Sports Network) – The Phoenix Suns’ Steve Nash and
Charlotte’s Gerald Wallace were named the NBA’s top performers for the week
ending November 27.
Nash dished out a league-best 9.7 assists and averaged 21.7 points to garner
the Western Conference Player of the Week honors and lead his team to a 3-0
record over that span.
On November 23 at Houston, the reigning league MVP posted a double-double with
15 points and 14 assists in a 100-88 road win.
Wallace was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week after averaging
22.3 points and 9.3 rebounds in three games for the Bobcats. On November 26,
Wallace recorded career-highs in rebounds (14) and blocks (5) while putting up
26 points in a 100-82 victory against the Washington Wizards.
Other nominees for Players of the Week include Denver’s Carmelo Anthony,
Washington’s Antawn Jamison, Detroit’s Rasheed Wallace, Los Angeles Clippers’
Elton Brand and Corey Maggette, Minnesota’s Kevin Garnett, Orlando’s Dwight
