Milwaukee’s Smith to undergo knee surgery

Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) – Milwaukee Bucks general manager Larry Harris
announced that forward Joe Smith will undergo left knee surgery on Tuesday,
December 6. The arthroscopic procedure will remove loose cartilage in Smith’s
left knee.

The former Maryland star hasn’t played since November 25 and is expected to
miss 6-to-8 weeks. He has appeared in just eight games this season, averaging
9.8 points and 9.0 rebounds.

The Bucks signed 6-8, 235-pound forward Josh Davis to help alleviate the loss
of Smith. Davis appeared in one game for the Bucks before being waived on
November 24.
