Hawks’ Josh Smith suspended
New York, NY (Sports Network) – The National Basketball Association
announced that Atlanta Hawks forward Josh Smith has been suspended for
elbowing Phoenix Suns guard Raja Bell.
The second-year player caught Bell with the elbow in the third quarter of the
Hawks 112-94 loss to the Suns on Sunday at America West Arena.
Smith, who is averaging 8.5 points and 4.6 rebounds per game for Atlanta this
season, will be suspended for two games without pay.
He will begin serving the suspension on Tuesday night when Atlanta faces the
Nuggets in Denver.
