Van Gundy calling it quits

Miami, FL (Sports Network) – The Miami Heat have scheduled a Monday press
conference, at which time it is expected that head coach Stan Van Gundy will
resign and president Pat Riley will take over.

According to CBS-4 TV in South Florida, Van Gundy has called it quits for
personal reasons.

The South Florida Sun-Sentinel, meanwhile, reported that Riley will take the
helm.

Miami owns a record of 11-10 and resides atop the Southeast Division despite
the absence of star center Shaquille O’Neal, who had missed 18 games with an
ankle injury before returning Sunday in a 104-101 overtime victory against
Washington.
