Kings, Timberwolves meet at Target Center

(Sports Network) – The Sacramento Kings attempt to win their third straight
game tonight, as they visit the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Target Center.

This is the second meeting of the season between the clubs. On December 4th,
Wally Szczerbiak scored 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead Minnesota
past Sacramento, 85-77, at ARCO Arena.

The Timberwolves have won seven of eight and eight of the last 11 meetings in
this series. Sacramento has lost four of six and 12 of its last 15 at
Minnesota.

Sacramento opens a four-game road trip this evening. On Sunday, Peja
Stojakovic, Bonzi Wells, and Shareef Abdur-Rahim each scored 23 points, as the
Kings knocked off the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets, 110-100, at ARCO
Arena.

Mike Bibby finished with 17 points and six assists in the win over the Hornets
for the Kings, won their second straight after a five-game skid. Brad Miller
contributed 10 points and 10 assists, and also grabbed eight rebounds in the
victory.

The Kings, who will also visit Detroit, San Antonio and Charlotte on the
current road trip, are 2-5 as the visitor this season.

Minnesota comes into tonight’s game off a tough loss. On Monday, Chris Webber
scored 27 points, including the game-winning basket in overtime, and also
grabbed a season-high 21 rebounds as the 76ers defeated the Timberwolves,
90-89, at the Wachovia Center.

Wally Szczerbiak led Minnesota with 23 points and Kevin Garnett added 19
points and seven boards in the loss to Philadelphia. Marko Jaric scored 14
points, while Michael Olowokandi finished with eight points and 10 boards for
the Timberwolves, who had a five-game winning streak snapped.

The Timberwolves are 7-2 at the Target Center this season. They have won four
of their last five at home.
