the Detroit Pistons defeated the Miami Heat, 106-101, in a rematch of last
season’s Eastern Conference Finals. Richard Hamilton added 25 points and
dished out a season-high nine assists, while Rasheed Wallace tallied 21
points for Detroit, which has won nine straight games and 15 of its last
16. Dwyane Wade did it all with 33 points, nine assists and six boards but
was a non-factor on the defensive end late in the game because of foul
trouble. Shaquille O’Neal scored 26 points and grabbed six rebounds and Jason
Williams tallied 20 points for Miami, which had its two-game winning streak
snapped.

shooting from beyond the arc, as the San Antonio Spurs routed the New
Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets, 111-84, at the SBC Center. Tim Duncan added 17
points and Tony Parker had 16 points and seven assists for the Spurs, who have
won two in a row and four of their last five games. David West scored 18
points for the Hornets, who have lost three of their last four games.

Denver, CO (Sports Network) – Ray Allen scored 39 points and Rashard Lewis
added 27 to lead Seattle over Denver, 112-105, at the Pepsi Center. Ronald
Murray tallied 18 points and grabbed six rebounds for the Sonics, who won
for the second time in three games. Damien Wilkins recorded 12 points,
eight assists and seven boards, as Seattle used an 11-2 run midway through the
fourth to go ahead for good. Carmelo Anthony ended with 32 points for the
Nuggets, who have dropped two in a row and six of eight.
