Phoenix, AZ (Sports Network) – Ray Allen drained a 32-footer from beyond the
arc at the buzzer to give the Seattle SuperSonics a 152-149 win in double-
overtime over the Phoenix Suns at US Airways Center in the highest-scoring NBA
game in almost 11 years.

Allen scored 32 of his season-high 42 points on 14-of-28 shooting in the
fourth quarter and overtime periods for the Sonics, who snapped a season-
worst four-game losing streak. Luke Ridnour netted a career-high 30 points
along with 11 assists, while Vladimir Radmanovic posted 22 points and 10

Rashard Lewis scored 17 points, Robert Swift notched a career-high 15 points,
and Damien Wilkins added 11 for Seattle, which shot a season-high 53.5 percent
from the field on 54-of-101 shooting.

Shawn Marion led the Suns, who had a six-game winning streak snapped, with 37
points and 10 rebounds. Raja Bell posted a career-high 31 points, Steve Nash
added 28 points and 16 assists, and Leandro Barbosa netted 16 points.

Boris Diaw scored 14 points and Kurt Thomas added 11 along with 12 rebounds
for Phoenix, which shot a season-high 18 three-pointers.

Rashard Lewis hit a jumper with 1:24 left in the second overtime to tie the
score at 147 for Seattle and Radmanovic sailed in a layup to go up 149-147 at
the 1:01 mark.

Bell tied the game for Phoenix at 149 on jumper with 11 seconds left, before
Allen drilled the trey for the victory.

Swift put the Sonics up 138-136 on a jumper in the lane with 50 seconds left
in the first overtime period, to which Marion responded by tying the game at
138 just 12 seconds later.

Nash took a pass from Marion down the lane and banked a running left-handed
layup with 1.6 seconds left to tie the game in regulation at 126, after
Allen highlighted a 21-point fourth quarter by draining a three-pointer with
4.4 seconds on the clock.

Marion tied the game at 120 on a runner in the lane after intercepting an
errant pass by Allen, capping an 11-2 Phoenix run. Allen responded right away,
however, with a triple that put the Sonics back up by three points before the
Suns sent it into the first overtime period.

The final 12 minutes consisted of nine lead changes and 10 ties.

The Sonics gained an early advantage in the game and led 35-27 after the first
quarter and 62-56 at halftime.

The 301 total points scored tonight was the most combined points scored by two
NBA teams since April 11, 1995, when Houston and Dallas got together for 303
(156-147). Phoenix’s 149 points were the team’s most since scoring 153 at
Denver on April 16, 1991. The Sonics scored 150 or more points for the first
time since November 9, 1989 when they scored 154 total points in a five-
overtime loss.

The Suns fell to 1-4 in overtime contests this season. Phoenix has now lost
two games in double-overtime and two in triple. Seattle improved to 3-1 in
overtime games this season.

Game Notes

This was the second meeting of the season between the clubs. On December 20th,
Shawn Marion scored 29 points as the Suns defeated the SuperSonics, 111-83, at
America West Arena…The Sonics are 7-13 on the road this season and are
scheduled to visit the Utah Jazz on Wednesday at the Delta Center…The Suns
have won four of the last six meetings in this series…Seattle is scheduled
to host the Suns on March 14th and April 9th at KeyArena.
