Hornets host Spurs

(Sports Network) – The San Antonio Spurs try to make it two straight wins this
evening when they visit the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets at the Ford

On Tuesday, Beno Udrih scored 17 points off the bench and Tim Duncan had 14
along with nine rebounds as San Antonio routed Charlotte, 104-76, at the AT&T

Udrih, a Slovenian native and Spurs’ first-round pick in 2004, finished 7-
of-11 from the field and added eight assists for the Spurs, who rebounded from
a rare home loss Sunday against Denver. San Antonio shot a sizzling 56.4
percent for the game to pick up its fifth win in six tries.

The Spurs were without forward Robert Horry (abdominal) and guard Manu
Ginobili (ankle). Both are expected to miss tonight’s tilt as well.

San Antonio, which will host Minnesota on Saturday, is 12-7 away from home
this season.

New Orleans/Oklahoma City, meanwhile, comes in on a losing note after falling
to the Boston Celtics, 91-78, on Monday at TD Banknorth Garden. David West had
21 points and six boards for the Hornets, who lost for the second time in
three games.

Rookie phenom Chris Paul was held to just eight points on 1-of-7 shooting for
New Orleans/Oklahoma City. The NBA’s top rookie did pull down six boards and
hand off six assists in the loss.

New Orleans/Oklahoma City is 12-7 as the home team this season.

The Spurs have split their two meetings with the Hornets this season and has
won five of the last six meetings. San Antonio has also won seven of nine and
eight of 11 as the road team in this series.
