Bulls winning big and ready to move up

(Sports Network) – The Chicago Bulls have won four consecutive games by
double-digits to close within three games of the third-place Milwaukee Bucks.

On Saturday, Ben Gordon had 23 points and eight rebounds to lead the Chicago
to a 111-99 victory over the Atlanta Hawks at the United Center. Kirk Hinrich
had 22 points and six assists, Luol Deng added 18 points and Tyson Chandler
contributed 10 points and a game-high 14 rebounds to help the Bulls win their
fourth straight game.

The Bulls are now 20-23 and just 1.5 games behind the slumping Indiana Pacers.

The bad news is that the Bulls travel to Dallas on Tuesday for the first of a
seven-game road trip which includes stops at Phoenix, Denver and the Los
Angeles Clippers.

It is the second and final meeting of the season between Chicago and the
Mavericks. On December 5th, Dirk Nowitzki scored 35 points to lead Dallas past
the Bulls, 102-94, at the United Center.

The good news is that the Bulls are one of just three teams in the Eastern
Conference with a .500 or better road record (Detroit 17-3, Miami 13-12).

In its 20 road games, the Bulls are shooting .403 from three-point range
versus just .386 at home. They also shoot slightly better from the line – .745
away from the United Center versus .725 at home.

Chicago was 8-6 in January, its best month to date.

The Bulls are averaging 23.1 assists, fourth-best in the league.

Forward Eric Piatkowski (ankle) is doubtful for Tuesday’s game.
