Sixers trade Hunter to Hornets
Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) – The Philadelphia Sixers traded center
Steven Hunter to the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets for second round
picks in the 2006 and 2007 NBA Drafts.
With starting center Samuel Dalembert injured in the off-season, Hunter
started the first 13 games of the season for the Sixers, shooting 51.4 percent
from the field and 60.9 percent from the free-throw line. In 38 games this
season, the 7-footer averaged 4.9 points, 3.5 rebounds and 0.95 blocks in 17.7
minutes per game.
For his career, Hunter has appeared in 259 games with Orlando, Phoenix and
The Sixers also signed center Zendon Hamilton to a 10-day contract. Hamilton
played 45 games for the 76ers during the 2003-04 season.
