NBA fines Rasheed Wallace
New York, NY (Sports Network) – Detroit Pistons forward Rasheed Wallace was
fined $5,000 by the NBA on Monday for elbowing Cleveland’s Zydrunas Ilgauskas
in the head.
The incident took place on Sunday with 10:13 left in the first quarter of
Detroit’s 90-78 win at the Palace of Auburn Hills. Wallace was first called
for a flagrant foul penalty one, but that was then upgraded by the league
office to a flagrant foul penalty two status.
The Pistons and Cavaliers are set to tangle tonight in Cleveland.
Wallace had 15 points and five rebounds in Sunday’s game and is averaging 15.5
points and 6.8 rebounds per game this season.
