figures with 15 points, as Miami held off the Chicago Bulls to record an 85-84
win at the United Center. Shaquille O’Neal and Antoine Walker each added 13
points for the Heat, who have won four straight and 14 of 15. Jason Williams
and Gary Payton each finished with 12 points. Luol Deng paced the Bulls with
19 points and 10 rebounds while Kirk Hinrich contributed 15 points and seven
assists for Chicago, which has lost four of six.

Charlotte, NC (Sports Network) – Richard Hamilton poured in 23 points to lead
the Detroit Pistons to a 108-103 victory over the Charlotte Bobcats at the
Charlotte Bobcats Arena. Chauncey Billups added 20 points and nine assists and
Tayshaun Prince had 18 points for the Pistons, who’s magic number dropped to
one to clinch the Central Division. Rasheed Wallace contributed 16 points and
seven rebounds while Ben Wallace shot 5-of-5 from the floor for 10 points in
the win, Detroit’s third in its last four games. Primoz Brezec totaled 20
points and seven boards and Jake Voskuhl posted 18 points and seven rebounds
for the Bobcats, who have lost four in a row and six of their last eight
contests. Raymond Felton netted 12 and dished out seven assists in the loss.

Final Score: Denver 109, New Orleans/Oklahoma City 94

New Orleans, LA (Sports Network) – Carmelo Anthony scored 28 points and dished
out seven assists as Denver dominated New Orleans/Oklahoma City, 109-94, at
New Orleans Arena. Andre Miller and Kenyon Martin each netted 17 points for
the Nuggets, who finished 5-2 on their seven game road trip. Greg Buckner
scored 19 points while Reggie Evans collected 16 rebounds. David West scored
24 points and grabbed eight boards for the Hornets, who were playing their
second game at New Orleans Arena since Hurricane Katrina devastated the city.
Kirk Snyder scored 12 points, while Chris Paul and Linton Johnson each
tallied 11 points. Paul also recorded 10 rebounds.

Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) – Michael Redd dropped in 33 points on 12-
of-21 shooting from the field as the Milwaukee Bucks opened a home-and-home
set with the Portland Trail Blazers with a 97-93 victory at the Bradley
Center. Charlie Bell added 14 points and dished out eight assists for the
Bucks, who have won three of their last four games overall. Bobby Simmons
donated 13 points while T.J. Ford had 11 points and six assists. Darius
Miles paced Portland with 26 points and six rebounds as the Trail Blazers
dropped their third game in a row and have now lost eight of their last nine
overall. Sebastian Telfair netted 21 points with six boards and five assists
in the loss.

Houston, TX (Sports Network) – Tony Parker had 23 points and eight assists to
lead the San Antonio Spurs to a 92-77 win over the Houston Rockets at the
Toyota Center. Tim Duncan posted 14 points and eight rebounds and Robert Horry
netted 12 for the Spurs, who are tied with Dallas for the lead in the
Southwest Division. Rasho Nesterovic scored 10 points in the win, San
Antonio’s fourth straight. Yao Ming paced the Rockets with 20 points and 10
boards while Juwan Howard totaled 18 points and eight rebounds in the
loss, Houston’s fourth consecutive. Luther Head added 12 points, five assists
and three steals in the contest.
