Nets try to end slump against Mavs

(Sports Network) – The Dallas Mavericks will wrap up a three-game road trip
this afternoon when they visit the New Jersey Nets at Continental Airlines
Arena.

Dallas is 2-0 on the trip and has won three straight overall, including
Friday’s 104-94 win over the Washington Wizards at the Verizon Center. Dirk
Nowitzki and Jason Terry each scored 25 points to lead the Mavericks, winners
of six of their last seven games. They are 26-4 over their last 30.

Jerry Stackhouse ended with 17 points and Marquis Daniels had 15 points for
Dallas, which also improved to 10-3 in its last 13 road games. The Mavs,
seeded No. 1 in the West, are 23-9 as the visitor this season.

Meanwhile, the Nets will conclude a three-game homestand against Dallas.

New Jersey is 2-0 on the homestand and has won four straight overall,
including Friday’s 92-89 win over the Los Angeles Lakers.

Nenad Krstic had 26 points and tipped in a missed shot by Vince Carter with
13.1 seconds left to lift New Jersey at Continental Airlines Arena.

Carter poured in 24 points and Richard Jefferson netted 16 for the Nets, who
won their fourth straight contest. Jason Kidd contributed 14 assists in the
win.

The Nets, who are the third seed in the Eastern Conference, are 3-1 in their
last four home games and 21-9 as the host this season.

Dallas has won 11 in a row and 13 of the last 19 meetings with New Jersey,
including a 110-77 win on January 14. The Mavericks have won five in a row at
Continental Airlines Arena.
