Boston, MA (Sports Network) – Kobe Bryant scored 43 points to lead the Los
Angeles Lakers to a wire-to-wire win over the Boston Celtics, 105-97, at TD
Banknorth Garden. Bryant hit 18-of-39 shots from the floor and scored 16
points in the fourth quarter, as the Lakers ended a two-game slide and won for
just the second time in six outings. Lamar Odom had 17 points and Smush
Parker scored 14 for Los Angeles, which avenged a home loss to the Celtics
earlier this season. Paul Pierce had 26 points and nine boards, but scored
just two points in the fourth quarter for Boston, which lost for the
fourth time in five outings. Tony Allen added 18 points and Wally Szczerbiak
had 15 for the Celtics, who have dropped five of seven.

Auburn Hills, MI (Sports Network) – Rasheed Wallace had 26 points and
eight rebounds as Detroit clinched the Central Division with a 91-84
victory over Atlanta at the Palace of Auburn Hills. Tayshaun Prince
added 18 points while Richard Hamilton and Chauncey Billups each had 14 for
the Pistons, who recorded their 15th consecutive win at the Palace and
wrapped up their fourth division crown in five years. Al Harrington
finished with 23 points for the Hawks, who snapped a four-game losing
streak with an overtime win Sunday against Orlando. Joe Johnson netted 17
in defeat.

Houston, TX (Sports Network) – Sam Cassell had 24 points and Corey Maggette
scored 20 to lead the Los Angeles Clippers to a 99-91 win over the Houston
Rockets at the Toyota Center. Elton Brand added 15 points, eight boards and
three blocks and Cuttino Mobley had 14 points for the Clippers, who have won
two straight and six of seven. Yao Ming had 25 points and 17 boards for
Houston, which has dropped five in a row to fall nine games under .500 for
the season (29-38). Luther Head added 20 points and six assists for the
Rockets, who briefly led early in the fourth quarter, but could not pull off
the win.

Portland, OR (Sports Network) – Michael Redd had 23 points and T.J. Ford went
for 19 points, 10 assists and five rebounds to lead the Milwaukee Bucks over
the Portland Trail Blazers, 100-93, at the Rose Garden. Bobby Simmons added
16 points and Charlie Bell scored 13 for the Bucks, who have won two in a row
and four of five. Zach Randolph had 23 points and 10 rebounds to lead
Portland, which has dropped five straight games. Joel Przybilla added 13
points and 12 boards for the Blazers, who have dropped nine of 10 and lost
for the 20th time in 24 outings.
