NBA fines Bonzi Wells

New York, NY (Sports Network) – The NBA fined Sacramento guard Bonzi Wells
$5,000 on Monday for batting the ball into the stands during Sunday’s 90-83
loss to Golden State at ARCO Arena.

Wells was automatically ejected with 3:51 left in the first quarter, despite a
lack of any malice in the gesture. In response to a foul called on him, Wells
bounced the ball high and then volleyed it into the Kings’ locker room tunnel.

Wells is averaging 13.2 points and 7.9 rebounds per game this season.
