Artest aggravates thumb injury

Sacramento, CA (Sports Network) – Sacramento Kings swingman Ron Artest
underwent an MRI examination on his right thumb Thursday.

The MRI revealed an aggravation to the ulnar collateral ligament in the thumb.

Artest originally suffered an injury to the appendage during his collegiate
career at St. John’s and never repaired the injury.

He is expected to play with a protective padding on the thumb.

Artest is averaging 17.6 points and 5.2 rebounds in 37 games with the Kings
since being acquired from Indiana on January 26.
