Celtics extend lease on TD Banknorth Garden

Boston, MA (Sports Network) – The Boston Celtics and Delaware North
Companies-Boston announced on Wednesday an agreement to amend and extend the
Celtics lease to play at the TD Banknorth Garden through the 2020-2021 season.
The new agreement will also include significant investments in the fan

“We are excited that this extension will allow us to remain at the TD
Banknorth Garden, while enhancing the Celtics game experience for our fans,
through a series of immediate upgrades, effective for the 06-07 season,” said
Celtics managing partner and governor Wyc Grousbeck. “For the Celtics to
remain at the TD Banknorth Garden is not only good for the team but it is
also good for the city of Boston and for our fans.”

The Celtics and the TD Banknorth Garden also announced that they will apply to
host the NBA All-Star Weekend in either 2009 or 2010.

“The Boston Celtics are vital to downtown Boston and I am thrilled that they
are staying at the TD Banknorth Garden,” said Boston mayor Thomas Menino. “It
is also an exciting prospect to think that Boston could be host to the NBA
All-Star Weekend in either 2009 or 2010.”
